Objective:
The Shanghai International IP Forum provides an interactive platform for government agencies, research institutions, legal bodies and industries through academic exchanges, experience sharing, reasoning and discussions. During the Forum this year, voices on the development mode of IP marketplace and IP transactions will be brought together through dialogue, speeches and discussion. The perspectives of high-level experts from different countries and regions will help us to examine and seek solutions for some of the most pressing issues in the forming and development of a more vigorous IP marketplace.

Background:
Entrusted by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) organizes the grant event of Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum each year. The Forum this year is also the 8th Shanghai International IP Forum. SIPA has successfully organized the Forum 2003 “Intellectual Property & Enterprises’ Competitiveness”, the Forum 2004 “Intellectual Property & City’s Competitiveness”, the Forum 2005 “Intellectual Property Protection & Creative Industries Development”, the Forum 2006 “Intellectual Property & Self-Innovation”, the Forum 2007 “Impact of WTO TRIPS Agreement on the Economic Development of Asian Countries”, the Forum 2008 “Intellectual Property Services and Transactions”, and the Forum 2010 “Intellectual Property and Innovative Cities”.

Participation:
The Shanghai International IP Forum 2011 provides communication opportunities for experts & professionals from IP organizations, academic & research institutions, hi-tech companies & industrial parks, IP service providers and officials from IPR related government authorities both home and abroad.
